I trained as, and remain an RIBA registered Architect. I founded and ran my own practice, Metz Architects for 20 years. As part of that business we worked with leading training agency Howitt Consulting, working with sales and technical teams in the construction products marketplace in new trends & regulations in the construction industry and how to leverage their company products into specifications for new building projects.
Some ten years ago utilising BIM (Building Information Modelling) in construction became a mandate for all Government projects. With our close contacts with product suppliers, Metz were instrumental in developing automated systems to deliver digital processes such as structured data and the first generation cross platform BIM objects - for companies including Kingspan, Knauf and Bauder.
I’ve always been really interested in leveraging digital technologies for the benefit of product suppliers and specifiers like architects. Now that AI is upon us, I have extensively researched and invested in how AI can be integrated and improve competitive advantage i.e. reduce costs and increase margins for construction product suppliers. Although the same technologies apply to any business, so we could help yours !
